Per our conversation last evening here is the need from our local elementary school.
Would you like to help a child learn an important life-long skill? If so, we have the volunteer opportunity for you! White's Tower Elementary School is looking for people who can donate their time to help students learn their math facts (multiplication and addition). Volunteers are needed throughout the school day (8:45 - 3:00) to help study math facts with flash cards. If you are available to help for an hour or more weekly, biweekly, monthly, please contact Julie Squires at Julie.Squires@Kenton.kyschools.us. You can also leave her a voice message at 356-9668.
A background check is required by the state for all school volunteers, and is provided at no cost to you. We will provide you the form to start the process. This can take between 20-30 days to receive a response from the state.
thanks for your willingness to help.
Marissa

Operation: Bellevue!
We have a sister church that is seeking help from folks who know who to fix things up. Perhaps this is something a Life Group or anyone can grab onto as a great ministry. Here is the request as worded by former Grover now senior paster of FBC, Aaron Sams:
"I was wondering if your small groups would be interested in helping the First Baptist Church of Bellevue. We have a great facility, but it has become worn down over the years. There are so many opportuunities, such as getting our gym functional and repairing some rooms, that would help us better reach the community in Bellevue. Do you think Hickory Grove would be interested in helping us in this way?"
If you wanna help in any way, you can contact Aaron at aaronsams9@gmail.com.

Our friends from the Moore Activity Center are looking for help. Here's a note from director Amy Wilhelmus:
A lot of your adults connected w the inner city kids and youth. I am in need of workers for our Thursday kids and youth groups. We continue to grow in numbers, but not in volunteers. Seeing if anyone comes to mind that u could talk to. We meet every Thursday through the school year, as long as Cov is in session. We start on the 15th. Let me know if you have any thoughts.
To volunteer, contact Amy at (859) 261-2300
